PyrCanna
In All Things
Welcome to the ever-evolving world of plant sciences and human health.
PyrCanna is a plant-science education and research endeavor with a special focus on natural, whole-plant cannabis education. We support the health and wellness journey by drawing on diverse research in botany, pharmacology, and pathophysiology and translating it into clear, usable teaching. Through an ever-expanding curriculum, we help learners build understanding that supports a coherent mind–body–soul balance.
As specialists in therapeutic cannabis, we demystify the plant and teach its known and emerging therapeutics alongside the advantages and disadvantages of its use. Our courses guide learners in understanding product choices in light of individual physiology, medication profiles, and goals—with particular attention to route of administration, cannabinoid–terpene profile, and dose—so decisions in today’s market arise from fluency and label literacy rather than guesswork.
.
Our Mission
PyrCanna’s mission is to embolden individuals through knowledge by uniting research and lived experience through a collection of writings, Field Notes, and a curriculum dedicated to unraveling mysteries and connecting cannabis and the endocannabinoid system to human physiology.
Inviting the mysteries of plant and body to meet the science of today
A Holistic Approach
At PyrCanna we take a holistic approach to health and wellness which includes considering physical and mental health, patterns of illness and recovery, sleep, lifestyle, and the intricacies of a balanced and imbalanced life. We are focused on lived experiences to help individuals maintain their own well-balanced state of health. We operate from the understanding that nothing in the body works in isolation; ongoing neurobiological reorganization connects every system—mind, body, and soul.
With an emphasis on medicinal cannabis and hemp and their effects on health, our education supports a practical pursuit of balance and joy. From hemp and cannabis applications to other complementary approaches alongside mainstream medicine, we’re here to support your health and wellness journey and provide knowledge and frameworks for a contented, healthy life.

Whyld Child Curriculum Series – PyrCanna Cannabis Education
We live in a time when individuals can make their own health decisions, and doing so requires complete, verifiable science that addresses both potential benefits and potential harms. At PyrCanna, botanical and scientific education provides that foundation for cannabis and hemp. We connect the plant’s chemistry to human physiology, presenting what is well established, what is emerging, and where limits remain, so choices arise from understanding rather than assumption.
Our educational approach centers on clarity and completeness. We synthesize credible research across botany, pharmacology, and pathophysiology, distinguish what is established from what is still emerging, and translate the implications for everyday decisions. The aim is an understanding that can evolve over time, even as the science and the market change.
We invite you to explore the Whyld Child Curriculum Series — PyrCanna Cannabis Education, a calm, supportive path from first principles to real-world application. Begin with the essentials and follow your curiosity into practical topics. Learn how to harness your own ECS for better health and wellness, and how to use it to better manage the ebb and flow of life. Each module stands on its own while building toward a coherent understanding, allowing you to move at your pace and return as the science and your needs evolve.

Neurobioloical Reorganization Meets the Endocannabinoid System
PyrCanna Field Notes
Cannabis & Long-Term TBI Living
PyrCanna Field Notes — drawn from lived experience + existing research
PyrCanna brings the cannabis conversation to the forefront of long-term living with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our work is framed by ongoing neurobiological reorganization and the realities of a world where pharmacologic options are limited, if they exist at all.
We specialize in illustrating the connections between the endocannabinoid system and the long-term lived experience of TBI to demonstrate where and how whole-plant cannabis may serve as a therapeutic option.
Within this lens, the education keeps to whole-plant standards and conservative practice: attention to purity, route selection suited to aims, careful pacing, and simple record-keeping that respects each person’s history and constraints. Guidance remains centered on the unique challenges TBI survivors face across the lifespan.
Practical domains include sleep and circadian steadiness, headache and migraine patterns, cognitive fatigue, sensory load and irritability, autonomic balance, mood and motivation, and pain and spasticity. Each is approached with a clear understanding of the diversity within the TBI community and how cannabis can be implemented to address long-term challenges.
PyrCanna Field Notes sit alongside the curriculum as an evolving, plain-spoken companion: observations from years of TBI navigation in conversation with current research.

PyrCanna on Substack
Finding in-depth discussions on how cannabis interacts with the body across a wide range of health issues is becoming more common, but finding those conversations paired with lived experience is rare. PyrCanna on Substack is where you’ll find the PyrCanna Field Notes—a unique marriage of scientific research and real-world perspective—and where our EPIPHA and tbi.Living content intersects with cannabis education. Articles combine research, science, medicine, and lived-experience insights on the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and the role cannabis plays in supporting brain and body adaptation. Through science-grounded explanations and real-world context, we help readers explore how to incorporate cannabis into their health and wellness goals, especially when managing rare and chronic health conditions.

Connecting You With Healing Products
While we educate individuals on the products that are most likely to be of the greatest benefit based on our knowledge and experience, we are constantly expanding our horizons and always looking to new and developing products and brands that adhere to organic standards.
We conduct in-depth research reviews to guide our evolving education on the existing products on the market with a goal of instilling confidence with clients to choose complementary treatments that synergistically support their individual needs.
Through our various cannabis education courses, we focus on the strains and routes of administration of hemp and cannabis that will likely work best for different individuals based on specific challenges. We specialize in strain blending for therapeutic effect – an approach that optimizes the benefits of the cannabinoids while minimizing or eliminating many of the unwanted effects associated with cannabis consumption.
Through cannabis education, we help individuals explore the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)—how this regulatory network works alongside other body systems in illness and in wellness, and how understanding it can support balance. Our goal is to help individuals cultivate mind–body–soul homeostasis across life’s continuum—and maybe, hopefully, help them find their own inner state of Joy!
Organic Cannabis
At PyrCanna we encourage the use of organic cannabis flower and products whenever possible. Everyday environments carry endocrine disruptors and other residues that can interfere with signaling across the neuro-endocrine-immune network. Because neurobiological reorganization is continuous, reducing avoidable chemical noise supports steadier responses in day-to-day life.
Plants absorb what surrounds them through soil, water, and contact, and residues can travel into finished products where they interact with the plant’s chemistry and with yours, including the endocannabinoid system. Product quality therefore matters as much as route of administration. We prioritize organic cultivation, transparent testing, and whole-plant preparations to minimize unnecessary risk while preserving the qualities that support better outcomes.
Strain Blending for Therapeutic Effect
Strain Blending, Done With Restraint
We educate on pairing complementary cannabinoid–terpene profiles to support specific aims while minimizing unwanted effects. The emphasis is conservative design, clear intent, and careful pacing, so blending refines response rather than escalating potency. Principles live in the curriculum; any examples are independent and updated as evidence and markets evolve.
Used thoughtfully, blending serves therapeutic ends and tempers what medicine calls “side effects.” By balancing profiles—gently counterweighting dominant characteristics with complementary ones—the overall effect can remain functional while the specific benefits of a needed strain are preserved. The curriculum sets out the rationale and boundary conditions so choices remain measured and reversible.

EPIPHA
In the beginning, EPIPHA originated from Joy…
As part of our continuing efforts to highlight issues impacting women’s health, and society as a result, EPIPHA was established. One of the primary missions of EPIPHA is spotlight sex-based differences in injuries and illnesses in an effort to further more research and understanding of how differently women are affected. It is our hope that the research will lead to better treatments for women leading to longer and healthier, more fulfilling lives.
What is an epiphany?
Some will say an epiphany is an illuminating discovery or realization while others may refer to it as the sudden perception of the essential nature of something. What is undeniable is that there is a realization by the self, a recognition of an intuitive grasp on reality that causes a shift in how the world is perceived. Through an ‘Aha’ moment, one that may come about as a result of a series of seemingly minute and often unnoticed ordinary occurrences, or one that may come about after repeated exposures to the same small experiences, that ‘Aha’ moment causes a ‘shift’ in perceptions. It is quite simply an overwhelmingly positive and/or clarifying emotional event that inspires you to respond differently than before, acting in such a way as to either resolve an issue or be motivated to the creation of new and possibly unique or revolutionary ideas.
EPIPHA came about as a manifestation of that internal need to follow the seemingly benign occurrences of everyday life that somehow magnetized
themselves to one another in my mind, until enough pieces of the puzzle had assembled themselves to result in a number of revelations.
EPIPHA is designed to spur thought, grow knowledge, and push our collective thought to new connections from seemingly unrelated things, all for the betterment of women’s health and wellness. It is through our collective experiences that we find commonality and it is where WE will create new approaches focused on health and wellness and not illness and disease. EPIPHA is an intersection, a confluence of ideas and lived experiences, a crossroads where existing research meets everyday experiences, where we as women start to find our own pathways to more diverse treatment approaches and better results for the individual.
EPIPHA
In the beginning, EPIPHA originated from Joy…
As part of our continuing efforts to highlight issues impacting women’s health, and the whole of society as a result, EPIPHA was established with a primary mission of focusing the spotlight on sex-based differences in injuries and illness, like traumatic brain injury. Promoting more research on how diseases and injuries impact women differently will lead to a broader knowledge base, providing a stronger foundational understanding of how women experience illness and injury. Focused in part on better treatments tailored to women, EPIPHA looks to shift the understanding about a woman’s experience, ultimately leading to healthier, more fulfilling lives.

EPIPHA on Substack
https://EPIPHA.substack.com
While PyrCanna is where we explore the science of the plant as it relates to our health and wellness, our sister site EPIPHA is where we widen the lens to see the science of ourselves. Beyond the main EPIPHA site, the Substack channel offers an ongoing collection of writings and discussions that bring these ideas to life. On EPIPHA’s Substack, the focus is on understanding the brain and body in motion—how they adapt, reorganize, and respond to life’s transitions, from the everyday to the life-changing. Serving a wide audience, EPIPHA often turns its attention to patterns most often overlooked: the neurologic and hormonal shifts shaping women’s health, and the complex realities faced by women living with traumatic brain injury.
Existing as a living dialogue that blends science, lived experience, and pattern recognition into something usable, EPIPHA on Substack turns complex physiology into clear, actionable insight. Through the lens of Neuro-Flow, you’ll learn a language that explains what is often misdiagnosed or missed: the shifting networks between brain, body, and environment that shape your health and resilience.
Articles range from deep dives into hormonal and neurologic transitions, to EPIPHA Field Notes, to practical strategies anchored in the Foundational Pillars of movement, nutrition, and an enriching daily rhythm. Whether you arrive with curiosity, questions, or the need for a better map, EPIPHA offers a place to start seeing your own patterns with clarity.
tbi.Living

tbi.Living
As a companion publication devoted to the complexity and chronicity of TBI over a lifetime, with a focus on neurobiological reorganization as the primary process, tbi.Living is a place for people wanting to understand the long road of navigating a traumatic brain injury (TBI)—especially injuries sustained in adolescence, when the brain is still developing. A cross between scientific discovery and lived experience, tbi.Living delves into the ongoing, bidirectional interplay between brain and body throughout life and the challenges TBI survivors face, probing why symptoms can last for decades, even when the injury is invisible to others. Here, the focus is on the real-world challenge of facing an injury with a complex trajectory that is invisible to everyone else, highlighting a vast array of issues survivors face: marginalization and dismissal by the healthcare industry and medical providers, managing the pain, exhaustion, cognitive fatigue, and a host of symptoms that never go away, facing the fluctuating changes in thinking and mood, and even dealing with the frustration of being misdiagnosed and shuffled through a system that rarely sees the whole picture.
Joining lived experience with current research, tbi.Living examines how TBI can reverberate across systems—the HPA axis, endocrine, renal, metabolic and hematologic concerns, and auditory, visual and vestibular pathways—including links to white matter hyperintensities (WMH). tbi.Living offers science-based explanations, practical tools, and a perspective grounded in lived experience aimed at helping others understand their own neurobiological reorganization. Instead of leaving survivors feeling at war with themselves, tbi.Living is a guide to understanding much of the dynamic shifting and changing world of living with a TBI through a dedicated Field Notes approach. Contained in the pages of the Field Notes Guide are personal observations and lived experience alongside scientific research explaining how TBI can play out over the years and decades, and how it can precipitate a vast array of other health issues. Of significant note, tbi.Living also highlights how women are too often misread and diverted into psychiatric labels due to a lack of understanding of the dynamically shifting and changing neurobiological environment in ongoing reorganization in women and how it is different from men, and how TBI acts as a medical mimic in clinical settings. tbi.Living is about understanding the journey and reclaiming your voice while finding ways to live a fulfilling life of Joy, on your own terms.
tbi.Living on Substack
https://tbiliving.substack.com
tbi.Living on Substack is a collection of Field Notes drawn from nearly four decades of living with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) invisible to the rest of the world. Blending lived experience with scientific understanding, how the brain and body continue to adapt is tracked—mapping changing terrain, how symptoms evolve, how the body compensates and how the outside world so often misreads what it cannot see.
Articles explore the full scope of a traumatic brain injury, showing how the sequelae can extend into every system in the body. With explanations that often reference the Neuro-Flow framework, ongoing neurobiological reorganization is highlighted as it continually shapes how body systems function, adapt, and respond after a TBI. Further discussions explore how TBI can influence a variety of things from hormonal rhythms and autonomic stability to digestion, immunity, sensory processing as well as a vast array of other health challenges across the lifespan.
tbi.Living Field Notes draw from multiple standpoints: survivor, clinician, researcher, woman, and someone who sees patterns and connections others miss. Each article or series examines the long road of living with a complex injury that shifts over years and decades, often beneath the surface of medical awareness.
Through this lens, tbi.Living challenges the gaps in how a brain injury is recognized and managed, particularly for women who are too often mislabeled, dismissed and marginalized instead of being understood in the context of the neurobiological reorganization norm that is the female form. Offering strategies rooted in both science and lived reality, tbi.Living aims to guide readers in seeing their own patterns with more clarity.
Whether unpacking the nuances of a single symptom, drawing connections across body systems, or providing practical tools for daily adaptation, tbi.Living on Substack is a space for insight, validation, and usable knowledge—anchored in the truth that recovery is not a finish line, but an ongoing dialogue between brain, body and life itself.
PyrCanna Retreat
As a very young girl, my Mother was at the helm of my diverse and ever-expanding education and knowledge base. Whether it was a trip to the arboretum or to the library for inspiration, she made sure to submerse my creative side in anything and everything she could to encourage the dreamer within me. See, those formative years were spent in a small farming community in Michigan, and that’s where my Mother established the foundational knowledge that would guide me in the world. Teaching me to creatively problem solve, fostering a young girl who would grow into a woman who would march to her own drum, she always encouraged me to stick to my convictions, and trust my intuition…and to know that when I silence the world around me, and listen to myself, the answers are always right there within me…after all, I am created and molded in her likeness, with what is right and true fueling the internal flame of my soul.
Fast forward to age 50, and through a series of life events, all of my life’s experiences collided. My purpose and future unfolded in little sparks and flutters over the course of two years until I awoke one day to a crystal clear vision of what lie ahead on my journey. I realized it is simply not enough to tell people about the things that can make their lives better, they need to know on a sensory level what it all means…and for those so inclined, instructional time to learn to do for themselves. There is a need to take consulting about the Hand-Brain Connection to the next level, beyond just explaining the things that can help in life. People need to experience for themselves, the benefits that abound from many things in everyday life, and sometimes it takes a reintroduction to the things you already know, or simply a different perspective that fuels your ability to see things differently. With this…the goal of developing a first of its kind healing arts retreat began, an is a work in progress.
Rooted in the study of the hand-brain connection and the ideology of daily mental health housekeeping practices, the goals of the retreat will focus on introducing people to a vast array of practices, some integrative, some alternative, some already part of daily life that are instrumental in a healthy body-mind-soul connection.
Although my Mother would not live long enough to witness just how instrumental those early years would be in my pursuit of providing comfort and contentment in the lives of others, her knowledge and dedication are my foundation. She will always be the creative force and the steadfast supporter throughout my life that molded me and helped develop me into the individual particularly suited for this journey. It is a mission she crafted, albeit probably unknowingly on her part, to nourish my development, in order for me to make a difference in the lives of others, guided by her teachings, and most definitely influenced by my education and life experiences.
PyrCanna Retreat will be a place to learn to refuel your inner power, and settle your very soul…
